The writing monkey

…at the same time, people watching objectifies and showcases humanity. But there’s something else to say about this, for while one would believe that it is the watcher who objectifies, it is in fact the passer-by who observes the watcher, the one who realizes that the watcher is being showcased. For example, I go to the café to write, think and watch people. I am sitting by the window in a tall seat facing my computer in the first plane, and the street beyond. But to any passer by that notices me, I would be like an animal behind a glass wall, sitting on its perch and writing.
